Description |
You look upon what can only be a specimen of the Iguana family, the long frills running from between the eyes down to the tip of the tail giving it away, as well as the characteristic fleshy neck, or wattle as they are commonly called. The spikes are spaced evenly, four inches long with five inches between each one and curved slightly like a sickle, or perhaps a scimitar, arced forward. The scales on this reptile are small, yet thick, interlacing with each other so that they feel smooth, the coloration a uniform chocolate brown throughout. This Iguana stands roughly three feet at the shoulder when he chooses to move around in quadroped fashion, the length from snout to whip-tail being almost twenty feet. When deigning to walk upright, he stands at a noticable seven foot, five inches on digitigrade-style legs. Almost immediately noticable to those that are viewing him is the fact that, instead of having only five limbs, this iguana has seven, the extra pair of arms located roughly halfway between his first set of arms and his hips, equipped with their own shoulders as well. Each of his five-fingered claws sport a four inch, black, sickle-shaped talon, sharp enough to dig into almost any surface. The five toed feet each sport a seven-inch talon, looking almost identical to the other set of talons. The musculature of this large beast is what would be found on a warrior, the biceps of each arm, as well as the thighs, are well built to hold up his weight while moving about. His chest and abdomen, however, are only muscled enough to show a little detail, a six-pack trying to make itself known. |
Personality |
Prone to study the situation before acting, as per monk training. Tolerant to those that see him as a monster and uncivilized at first. Having grown up in a monestary has taken most, but not all, of the bestiality out of him. |
Background |
Mazurek was hatched in a tribe of lizardfolk that has regularly seen to 'banish' members that display odd deformities, be they natural or caused through combat, such as multiple heads, additional limbs, missing limbs, or even hatching as a taur type. In his case he was gifted with four arms, which have served him quite well over the years, allowing him to strike quickly and with greater force when needed. Like all of the other 'misfits', he was immediately sent to another part of the tribe that had been built generations ago when this 'problem' had started, situated five miles from the main encampment. It has since been turned into a monestary and all those that are sent there become Monks under the tutilage of a sensei that, for this generation, is a two-headed, white half-dragon. The distance is great enough that the monestary has opened its doors to all races, proving that the tribe is more open minded about others, yet still having that cautious behavior toward the world. The only problem that the greater majority of the races have, which they quickly learn to overcome, is that they are required to be like the lizardfolk, which is to say that all hair, fur, beards (especially from the dwarves), etc. must be cut and that all clothing must be shed, regardless of gender, so that there is nothing for the opponent during sparring matches to grab a hold of and toss the other. Despite what others may think might happen in such a place, there is harmony amongst those that live there, even those that would be considered natural enemies (Drow and other elves, for example). Those with claws are not restricted from using them during their training and sparring matches, either. Those that have learned all they can from the monestary are given a ceremonial send-off in which they receive the traditional monk attire custom tailored for their unique attributes along with the selection of weaponry that the 'graduate' is most comfortable with, as evidenced during the years of training. In the case of this Iguana-type lizardfolk, unarmed combat was his specialty despite an equal use of a quarterstaff and the Kama. He was given a Kama as his gift, and told that he would need to make his own staff for it to be truly fit for him. He was one of the youngest to leave the monestary, only 8 by human standards but very much an adult to his people. He has since ontained various other weapons to use, including some that are usually only found amongst the lizardfolk. He keeps the monk attire in his pack at all times when not around his tribe, wearing nothing except fur-lined clothing in the cold months. Many years have passed since then, the training never ceasing. While he has sustained injuries that would have caused others problems, the four-armed lizardfolk has moved onward to seek greater challenges. |
