Description |
Fred's a bit on the short side for a group typically aligned with pillaging, but makes up for it with little bit extra meat around the stomach and leg area. He has an air about him that seems to shout out, 'I'm a slightly smarter than average barbarian', or it maybe the books he tends to keep in his bag. As such, he's gathered a fair bit of extended knowledge beyond what you'd normally expect of a barbarian, even going as far as being able to write his own name, in Orcish none the less. He's capable of speaking common, orc and dwarven. |
Personality |
Fred is a bit timid, but confident when making arguments. He won't normally resort bashing you on the head with a large stone, but will if faced with a stupid, bullish or dishonest person. He tends to rely of laying out clear facts, but can be a bit slow on picking up on the intentions of parties he is involved in. Once obvious, he can become a little impatient however. He generally just enjoys a good time, whether it be reading, hunting, or discussing the finer points of berserker war cries. |
Background |
Told from the perspective of a comical observer: Fred was a special child. He was a bit porky even back in those days, shown by him falling out of a tree, which should have given him the start that most barbarians dream of, free dumbing down and excuse to be angry. However, Fred was special, and as such the falling seemed to make him a bit brighter, but still given a reason to be angry at the trees. More importantly, it made him a little timid. So timid, that he curled up into a ball when he first encountered a bear. Sure, the curling made the bear ignore him, but he was forever teased by those around him, some of whom mysteriously disappeared around the same time and places where bears were spotted. Hence the birth of the Bearbeaten title. However, this timidity brought up a rather potent form of the rage that seems to affect barbarians everywhere. Potent in such a manner that he was called 'a little bit brutal' but a friendly half-orc barbarian when he kept on attacking the blood that have splattered onto a nearby rock after bandit had tried to steal his favourite skinning knife. After he'd calmed down a little, Fred's answer was 'he just wanted to be thorough'. We believe you Fred, we believe you. He has spent the last 4 years travelling around the local area, taking up jobs with adventurers, farmers and the occassional bar owner. |
